Manila, Jan. 22 -- More than PHP94 million worth of illegal drugs were seized, and nearly 700 drug suspects were arrested in Metro Manila during the first 20 days of 2026.

In a statement Thursday, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said it conducted 518 anti-drug operations during the period, resulting in the arrest of 673 suspects and the seizure of 13,772 grams of shabu and 2,125 grams of dried marijuana leaves, with an estimated standard value of PHP94,025,855.60.

NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin said the results reflect sustained pressure on the distribution of illegal drugs in communities.
