Manila, May 15 -- The National Bureau of Investigation Intellectual Property Rights Division (NBI-IPRD) on Thursday reported that PHP55 million worth of counterfeit products have been seized in a series of operations conducted on May 6-7 in Paranaque, Malabon and Manila.

The seizures followed multiple search warrants served for violation of Section 155 (Trademark Infringement) and Section 168 (Unfair Competition) in relation to Section 170 of Republic Act 8293 or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.

The cases stemmed from complaints filed by lawyers and representatives of Oakley, Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent.
