MANILA, Aug. 16 -- National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Jaime Santiago has resigned from his post, Malacanang confirmed on Saturday.
"He (Santiago) submitted his resignation," Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said in a text message.
Castro gave no reason for Santiago's resignation.
She said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has yet to accept Santiago's resignation.
"Wala pa po comment mula sa Pangulo (There is no comment yet from the President) as of now," she said.
A copy of his resignation letter, addressed to the President and dated Aug. 15, 2025, was shared with members of the media on Saturday.
