Manila, Jan. 29 -- There will be no sweeping reshuffle in the Philippine National Police (PNP) following the promotion of Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. to four-star general and elevation as full-fledged chief of the police force.

In a statement Thursday, Nartatez said stability will be maintained within the organization although he stressed that leadership movements are part of normal police service.

"There is no abrupt or sweeping reshuffle. Any movement will be orderly, well-planned, and based on organizational needs," he said.
