Manila, July 31 -- Lt. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete on Thursday officially assumed command of the Philippine Army (PA), succeeding Lt. Gen. Roy Galido, who retired after two years of service as the Army's chief.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the Change of Command and Retirement Ceremony at Fort Andres Bonifacio in Taguig City, where he also conferred the Presidential Legion of Honor (PLOH) Award on Galido for his "exceptional service and dedication" to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
