Tacloban City, Jan. 8 -- The Northern Samar provincial government released on Wednesday a total of PHP1.33 million in stipends and allowances to 31 nursing scholars as part of its continuing commitment to support the province's future healthcare workforce.

Each scholar received PHP43,000 covering stipend, book and uniform allowances, which are intended to help defray expenses as they enter the second semester of academic year 2025-2026.

The provincial government said the release of benefits in the first week of the year underscores the local government's sustained support for the scholars' education.
