Manila, July 17 -- Persons with disabilities (PWDs) are set to enjoy increased transportation discounts and expanded government support, as the country celebrates this year's National Disability Rights Week, the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) said Thursday.
In a Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon interview, NCDA Executive Director Glenda Relova emphasized that the celebration serves as a platform to reinforce and implement rights-based programs and privileges for PWDs.
Among the key highlights is the increased train fare discount for PWDs, which is now set at 50 percent, higher than the previous standard of 20 percent.
