Manila, Feb. 3 -- The Tanay, Rizal-based 2nd Infantry Division (ID) on Tuesday said the mother of Filipino-American activist Chantal Anicoche has thanked them and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for providing humane treatment to her daughter following her rescue in Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro early January.

In a statement to reporters, 2nd ID spokesperson Col. Michael Aquino said Anicoche's mother, Maria Liza, expressed her gratitude in a message which she gave him along with her consent for publication.

"In her message, Mrs. Anicoche expressed deep appreciation for the professionalism, compassion, and humanitarian care extended to her daughter from the time of her rescue through her medical recovery," he added.
