Manila, Feb. 18 -- Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said the recently signed memorandum of agreement (MOA) by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) and the Bangsamoro's Ministry of Indigenous Peoples' Affairs (MIPA) will do a lot to protect IP rights.

In a statement Tuesday, Galvez said this agreement will "facilitate cooperation, provide protection, and champion the rights of our IPs."

He also assured that the OPAPRU "will continue to carry out initiatives that aim to foster sustained peace, equitable resource distribution, and inclusive development for all our countrymen living in the Bangsamoro region."
