Manila, Sept. 11 -- The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has temporarily banned mall-wide sales in shopping malls surrounding two venues of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship 2025.
In a memorandum circular released on Wednesday, the MMDA said the ban will be implemented in malls near the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City and the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City from Sept. 12 to 14.
The same measure would be in effect at malls near the SM Mall of Asia Arena from Sept. 20 to 21 and from Sept. 27 to 28.
It said the ban seeks to avoid heavy traffic and the influx of the public to malls in the area during key match weekends of the tournament, which the country is hosting for the first time.
