MANILA, March 17 -- The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Paranaque city government have installed 25 trash traps across the city's waterways and drainages to address flooding.

The project aligns with the 'Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas (Cleanliness in the New Philippines)' campaign of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and was turned over by MMDA Chair Don Artes to the local government of Paranaque City on Monday.

"With the turnover of 25 trash traps, including sets of tools for operations and maintenance, it will prevent wastes from clogging waterways and drainage systems as well as reduce the occurrence of flooding," Artes said during the ceremonial signing of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the project.
