Manila, Feb. 11 -- CEBU CITY - Police patrols will be intensified near inns and motels during the celebration of Valentine's Day to prevent possible human trafficking, especially of minors.
"We would also be monitoring that one (cases of human trafficking). We'll be tasking our WCPD (Women and Children Protection Desks) in all police stations to monitor activities that might lead to that particular crime," Lt. Col. Maria Theresa Macatangay, deputy chief for operations of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said in an interview Tuesday.
Macatangay said the city police is coordinating with inn and motel managements to establish police presence and prevent the exploitation of minors in their establishments, especially on Valentine's Day.
