Manila, March 24 -- An additional 10,000 to 15,000 passengers are expected to use the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) this Holy Week, the head of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said on Monday.

"For the past two weeks, the average daily passenger volume is 135,000," MIAA general manager Eric Ines told the Philippine News Agency.

Ines clarified that MIAA's projection was based on the figures during the Holy Week in 2024.

Last year, there were 1,040,707 passengers at the NAIA from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, higher by 12 percent compared to the 926,755 passengers the previous year.
