Manila, May 21 -- Airport regulator Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said Wednesday it extended assistance to victims of a recent fire incident in Barangay 81, Caloocan City.
The MIAA distributed 476 repacked eco-bags and 50 boxes of assorted items, such as clothing, bags, footwear, and toys to more than 1,000 individuals on May 20.
The outreach program was part of MIAA's CSR initiatives and was also a response to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s call to help calamity-stricken communities.
MIAA's donation came from unclaimed items at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport's lost and found section.
The Caloocan fire incident left two people dead and five others injured. It razed 70 houses, affecting 90 families.
