Manila, May 25 -- The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said the crime rate in Metro Manila dropped by 23.13 percent from Nov. 23, 2024 to May 23, 2025.

In a statement Saturday, NCRPO Director Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin said the 2,589 crimes are lower compared to 3,368 logged during the same period last year.

This translates to 779 fewer incidents of murder, homicide, physical injuries, rape, robbery, theft and carnapping.

Aberin attributed the decrease to continuous training and adequate resources, active crime deterrence and swift law enforcement response, and alliance with communities and stakeholders to foster lasting public safety.
