Manila, May 13 -- The overall security environment of the May 12 midterm elections was "manageable and stable" despite some violent incidents recorded, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said Tuesday.

"Despite isolated violent incidents, the AFP assesses the overall security environment to be manageable and stable, with swift and coordinated responses helping to contain threats and deter further disruptions," AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla said.

She was referring to several election-related incidents that included shooting incidents in Bayang, Lanao del Sur where two civilians were killed; Silay City, Negros Occidental with two killed and seven wounded; Bangued, Abra with one wounded; and New Corella, Davao del Nor...
