Manila, July 17 -- The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) on Thursday backed the launch of the Philippine Maritime Workforce Portal (PMWP) --a centralized digital platform for data on the Philippine maritime workforce.

In a statement, MARINA Deputy Administrator for Planning Nenita Atienza said the portal has a crucial role in shaping responsive, targeted, and future-ready policies for the maritime sector.

"The PMWP is more than a database --it is a strategic tool that will help us uplift the lives of Filipino seafarers and reinforce the country's maritime strength," Atienza said.
