Manila, March 25 -- The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) and international shipping company Maersk on Tuesday agreed to advance sustainable shipping practices and environmental stewardship, particularly on transitioning to alternative fuels.

During the ceremonial signing at the MARINA headquarters in Port Area, Manila, MARINA Administrator Sonia Malaluan said the partnership would help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide MARINA personnel with knowledge and experience on the use of alternative fuels, particularly methanol.
