Manila, Dec. 19 -- Marikina City Mayor Maan Teodoro on Friday ordered the appropriation of PHP15 million to initially pay Barangay Tumana's outstanding debt and resume water services before Christmas.

The mayor called on the Sangguniang Panlungsod to immediately pass a proposed ordinance appropriating funds to address the water problem in Tumana after Manila Water disconnected the water supply.

"Hindi ko hahayaan na mag-Pasko ang mahigit 3,000 residente ng Barangay Tumana na walang tubig (I will not let the more than 3,000 residents of Barangay Tumana spend Christmas without water)," Teodoro said in a statement.
