MANILA, Dec. 1 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered the suspension of the Complete Disability Discharge (CDD) of an Army officer who was permanently blinded in the line of duty, directing defense officials to ensure that wounded personnel are not simply shown the door after sacrificing for the country.
In a video message released on Monday, Marcos said he was moved by the viral post of Capt. Jerome Jacuba, who signed off from service after being discharged due to complete disability.
Jacuba was blinded after a bomb explosion during an anti-terrorism operation in Mindanao.
