BUSAN, Nov. 1 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said the Philippine government is determined to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into its operations "as much as we can, as soon as we can," warning that hesitation could leave the country behind in the global race toward digital transformation.
"You're missing a chance if you wait. AI is going to come -- parang alon 'yan. Kahit anong gawin mo, mababasa ka (like a wave, whatever you do, you'll still get hit)," Marcos told reporters after the conclusion of the 2025 APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Summit in Gyeongju, South Korea.
"And if you don't learn how to swim, ma-iiwanan ka talaga (you will be left behind)," he added.
