Manila, Oct. 23 -- President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday commended the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) for demonstrating that "government is still worthy of the people's trust," as his administration continues efforts to strengthen transparency and accountability in public service.
"Whenever our people see you during rescue missions or in your day-to-day patrols, what they see is that the government is still working diligently and is worthy of their trust," Marcos said during the PCG's 124th anniversary at Pier 15, Manila.
