Manila, July 22 -- The city government of Manila has rescued over 800 families composed of nearly 3,000 individuals affected by inclement weather caused by the southwest monsoon or "habagat".

In a social media post on Tuesday, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said based on the data from the Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW), a total of 842 families or 2,889 individuals are in 22 evacuation sites in the city as of 10 a.m.

Of the number, the majority were inside the Atienza Elementary Schools in Baseco Compound in Tondo, composed of 148 families or 641 individuals.

The other evacuees are in the following sites:

District 1: Delpan Sports Complex (9 families or 44 individuals); Vitas Building 18 covered court (29 families, 86 individuals...
