Manila, Nov. 8 -- The city government of Manila on Saturday raised to red alert status the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMO) in relation to the expected impact of Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong) this weekend.
In a social media post, the Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) said Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso ordered MDRRMO Director Arnel Angeles to ensure a fast and prompt response to any incident.
"We are informing the public and our fellow Manilenos to be vigilant and immediately call 0932-662-2322 for any emergency," it said.
Domagoso also informed the public that several establishments in the city are ready to provide shelter for their vehicles.
