Manila, Oct. 21 -- The Makati city government has donated more than PHP93 million worth of assorted firearms, protective gear, and other crime-fighting equipment to the city's local police force.

In a statement on Tuesday, Mayor Abigal Binay said the move targets to boost the security force's capabilities to maintain peace and order within the city.

"We continue to give priority to the modernization of the local police force's equipment. We know how crucial it is to enhance their crime-fighting capability especially during the pandemic, for the sake of our residents and all other stakeholders," she said.
