Manila, March 6 -- Major assets of the Philippine Army (PA) including its newly acquired Sabrah light tanks and ATMOS 155mm self-propelled howitzers will take part in the live-fire phase of Combined Training Exercise "Katihan" which will take place at Camp Edwin Rabina Air Base, Capas, Tarlac this Friday.
Army spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala, in a message to the Philippine News Agency Thursday, said the March 7 live-fire drills cover "Battle Period 2" of "Katihan" exercise which is scheduled from March 3 to 12.
"Assets to be used are Sabrah light tanks, ATMOS 155 howitzers, and small arms," he added.
Incidentally, the Sabrah light tanks, armed with 105mm guns, will be used for the first time in this scenario, Dema-ala said.
