Manila, Oct. 13 -- Two men on a motorbike killed a village councilor of Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur and his son on Monday morning.

Lt. Col. Jopy Ventura, spokesperson for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region police, said Barangay Kapinpilan Councilor Abusama Agao and his son, Norodin, were ambushed at around 8:30 a.m.

Agao was also identified as a field commander of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) while Norodin was a village watchman.

Jahara, Agao's daughter, was injured. The victims were on a tricycle, driven by Norodin, to attend a wedding when the ambush happened.

Father and son were killed on the spot, while Jahara was taken to Maguindanao Provincial Hospital in nearby Datu Hoffer town.
