Manila, May 12 -- The Land Transportation Office (LTO) temporarily suspended the license of the truck driver who was involved in a recent road crash in Quezon province.

In a statement on Monday, LTO chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II said the temporary suspension was placed as part of a show cause order (SCO) issued to both the truck driver and operator.

The driver was asked to explain in writing why his license should not be permanently revoked for being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle, a violation under the Republic Act 4136 or the LTO Code.

On the other hand, the operator was asked to explain why no sanctions should be imposed for employing a reckless driver.
