Manila, June 19 -- The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Thursday summoned the owner and driver of the van involved in a fatal road crash in Tagaytay City that left three people dead.

In a statement, LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, said a show cause order (SCO) has been issued to the registered owner of the Nissan Grand Livina to explain why he allowed a reckless driver and an improper person to drive his vehicle.

"We are also coordinating with the local police to get the necessary pieces of evidence, including an official report stating that the driver was under the influence of liquor at the time of the incident," Mendoza said.
