Manila, March 25 -- The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Tuesday summoned the owner and driver of a dump truck that rammed at least 16 concrete barriers of the EDSA Busway in Quezon City.

The truck was reportedly bound for Taguig to deliver sand from Porac, Pampanga when the incident occurred.

The driver confessed that he fell asleep while driving.

In a statement, LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II said an investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident near EDSA-Santolan is ongoing.
