Manila, Sept. 5 -- The Land Transportation Office (LTO) district office here has already released 17,000 backlog motorcycle plates, or 63.73 percent of the total 22,631 backlog, as of Friday.
LTO Dagupan District Office chief Romel Dawaton said in an interview that the distribution is been ongoing since the campaign started August.
The campaign covers motorcycles registered from 2014 to 2017 with old six- and seven-digit plates.
"We tie up with malls, since people really go there. Here in the office, we are open on Saturdays, even on Sundays," he said.
For motorcycles purchased after 2017, Dawaton said owners should follow up with their dealers, as the plates have been turned over to them.
