Manila, Nov. 17 -- Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chair Vigor Mendoza II on Monday vowed a crackdown on widespread franchise violations in transport network vehicle services (TNVS).
In a statement, Mendoza said more mystery riders will be deployed to address complaints against these "tempo" TNVS units, which are operating without a franchise and a provisional authority through the issuance of temporary permits.
"What is even more concerning is that the TNCs (transport network companies) are allegedly condoning the illegal activity by including the TNVS in their online service apps even without the proper permits from the LTFRB," he said.
