Manila, Feb. 11 -- The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has summoned several operators who owned dilapidated jeepneys found during an inspection in Quezon City on Tuesday.
In a statement on Wednesday, LTFRB Chair Vigor Mendoza II said show cause orders (SCO) have been issued against the operators of at least 10 passenger jeepneys as part of a crackdown against dilapidated public utility vehicles (PUV).
The operation is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s order to ensure road safety and prioritize the welfare of commuters.
