Manila, Jan. 2 -- Surprise inspections of land transportation terminals and public utility vehicles (PUV) will continue on Friday as part of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board's (LTFRB) efforts to safeguard returning travelers after the long holiday break.

In a statement, LTFRB Chairperson Vigor Mendoza II said bus companies and other transport operators have been advised to ensure the roadworthiness of their PUVs for passengers to enjoy worry-free travel.

"The compliance of the bus companies and other transport operators will be checked and tested during the conduct of random and surprise inspections in coordination with other government agencies," Mendoza said.
