MANILA, July 4 -- Students now have dedicated lanes at stations of the Light Rail Transit Line Line 2 (LRT-2) and the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) as of Friday.

In a statement on Friday, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon said the dedicated student lanes are in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s order to eliminate queuing and avoid inconvenience.

Dizon said the dedicated lanes would cater to students who need to purchase single journey tickets with a 50-percent discount.
