Manila, April 30 -- The weather bureau said Wednesday the low pressure area (LPA) being monitored is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours.
As of 3 a.m., the LPA was located 805 kilometers east of Southern Mindanao.
The LPA's trough will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across Davao Region, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
It added that Palawan and the rest of Mindanao will likewise experience scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the intertropical convergence zone or ITCZ.
Moderate to heavy rains in the aforementioned areas could result in flash floods or landslides.
