Manila, Sept. 6 -- The low-pressure area off Northern Luzon has developed into Tropical Depression Lannie, the weather bureau said Saturday.
As of 5:15 a.m., the center of Lannie was estimated at 315 km. west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph. It was moving westward at 15 kph.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Lannie will move generally northwestward until Monday before turning west-northwestward through the rest of the forecast period.
It is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Saturday morning or afternoon.
