Manila, March 28 -- The low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility will continue to bring rains over parts of the country, the weather bureau said Friday.
As of 3 a.m., the LPA was tracked 95 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
Although unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone, the LPA will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms over Caraga, Eastern Visayas, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Catanduanes, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 5 a.m. bulletin.
Moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods or landslides.
