MANILA, Dec. 1 -- Senator Sherwin Gatchalian on Monday said the Philippines' investment-grade credit rating reflects strong economic fundamentals, noting that stable inflation and improving price conditions have reinforced confidence in the country's economic trajectory despite corruption concerns raised by some foreign investors.
During a virtual press briefing, Gatchalian said the country's ability to maintain low inflation in recent quarters -- staying below 2 percent -- contributed significantly to the positive outlook issued by credit rating agencies, which closely monitor price stability when assessing macroeconomic strength.
