Manila, Oct. 22 -- Environment Secretary Raphael Lotilla said the Philippine mining industry is shifting towards a more responsible and sustainable approach as the Department of Environment and Natural Resources modernizes its mining governance framework to make it more transparent, data-driven and climate-responsive.
Speaking at the Mining Philippines International Conference and Exhibition in Taguig City on Wednesday, Lotilla highlighted reforms being implemented by the agency, as he underscores the importance of Republic Act 12253 or the Enhanced Fiscal Regime for Large-Scale Metallic Mining Act, recently signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
