Manila, Feb. 5 -- Various local government units (LGUs) in Davao Region suspended classes as a safety precaution amid adverse weather brought by Tropical Storm Basyang.

In Davao de Oro, the municipalities of New Bataan, Compostela, Maragusan, Montevista, Nabunturan, Mawab, Maco, Pantukan, Mabini, and Laak suspended classes, while the municipality of Monkayo is under granular class suspension.

In Davao del Norte, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office also issued an advisory suspending face-to-face classes in cities and municipalities.
