TACLOBAN CITY, Dec. 17 -- Micro, small and medium enterprises in Leyte province have earned PHP6.2 million in sales during the five-day pre-Christmas trade fair in this city, exceeding the PHP5.82-million goal, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial office reported on Wednesday.

DTI Leyte provincial director Faustino Gayas Jr. said sales performance included PHP4.019 million in cash transactions, PHP1.916 million in booked orders and PHP267,620 under negotiation.

"The sales demonstrate strong on-site consumer demand and promising post-event business opportunities for participating enterprises," Gayas said in a statement.
