Manila, Feb. 20 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s focus on promoting dialogue and a rules-based order in the region makes him the country's "best ambassador" abroad, a lawmaker said Thursday.

"Our best ambassador is really the President because as he goes around the world, carrying the Philippine flag, (he fights) for global peace and order and security," chair of the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs, Pangasinan Rep. Rachel Arenas, said at a Foreign Service Institute (FSI) Philippines lecture in Pasay City.

"That should actually make us follow through. Being the author of our foreign policy and him showing the world that we have peace and order - for us working here and I being elected should follow suit."
