Manila, Jan. 2 -- The provincial government of Laguna recorded 71 firecracker-related injury cases, mostly negligible, during the holiday period from Dec. 25 to Jan. 1, based on the latest consolidated data.

Provincial Information Officer Danilo Lucas said the figures were gathered from district hospitals and partner health facilities across the province.

In this city, JP Rizal District Hospital reported the highest number of cases with 12; Calamba Doctors Hospital (2); and the Calamba Medical Center and St. John the Baptist Medical Center, with one each.

Laguna Medical Center in Sta. Cruz town logged 10 cases, while San Pablo City District Hospital recorded six.
