MANILA, May 14 -- Former Senator Panfilo Lacson on Wednesday described the 2025 midterm elections as a "game changer," citing the active participation of young voters and the influence of social media.

"The people have spoken," Lacson said in a statement, noting that the polls yielded "big surprises on big wins and big upsets."

He pointed out key elements that shaped the outcome - - the turnout of millennials and Gen Z voters and the growing sway of social media.

Based on the partial unofficial results of the Commission on Elections media server as of 3:30 pm Wednesday, Lacson is in the top seven of the senatorial race, with about 14,857,179 votes.
