MALASIQUI, Dec. 2 -- La Union's Christmas Village is seen to bring joy and hope to the residents following various disasters this year, while stirring economic activities and promoting local products and destinations.

The Christmas Village, located at the Francisco Ortega Convention Center Complex grounds in Barangay Sevilla, San Fernando City, features a 55-foot Christmas tree at the roundabout with some 900 lanterns made by Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) of the provincial jail.

The PDL earned money from making the lanterns and sent them to their families.

Entrance to the village is free of charge.
