Manila, Jan. 7 -- Kanlaon Volcano emitted ash again on Wednesday afternoon.
The ash emission started at 2:58 p.m. and is ongoing as of writing, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
It added that the latest emission generated grayish plumes reaching 900 meters above the crater, and drifting northwest.
Kanlaon Volcano also emitted ash on Tuesday, generating grayish plumes that rose 350 meters above the crater.
Alert Level 2, indicating a moderate level of unrest, remains in effect over Kanlaon Volcano.
Earlier, Phivolcs Director Teresito Bacolcol explained that ash emission is normal and is expected for Kanlaon Volcano under Alert Level 2 status.
