Manila, May 13 -- Incumbent Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval was proclaimed Tuesday as the winner of the mayoral race in the just-concluded May 12 midterm elections.

Sandoval was formally proclaimed by Malabon City Election Officer Jethmal Dayaldas, the Malabon City Facebook page said in a post.

"Ginanap ang proklamasyon sa Session Hall sa ika-6 na palapag ng Malabon City Hall (The proclamation took place at the Session Hall at the sixth floor of the Malabon City Hall)," it added.

Sandoval is serving her second term as the city's highest-ranking elected official.

She was first elected as Malabon mayor in 2022.
