Manila, April 23 -- Most parts of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and the easterlies, while 25 areas will see scorching temperatures due to a danger level heat index.

In its 5 a.m. bulletin Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the ITCZ affecting southern Mindanao will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Sarangani, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

Moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods or landslides, PAGASA said.

The rest of the island will still experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms...
