Manila, May 13 -- Incumbent governors Nilo Demerey Jr. (Dinagat Islands) and Maria Angelica Rosedell Amante (Agusan del Norte) headlined Tuesday's wave of proclamations following Caraga Region's peaceful midterm elections, with several congressional and local leaders also securing fresh mandates.

Demerey's alliance scored a significant victory as Rep. Arlene Bag-ao unseated incumbent Alan 1 Ecleo in Dinagat Islands.

"I'm deeply honored by this fresh mandate," Demerey said in an interview, urging unity among winners to benefit constituents.

Butuan City elected Lawrence Fortun as mayor, who pledged "governance closer to the people" in his acceptance post.
